The Canadian Standards Council (SCC) and UL are proud to co-host an ISO international workshop to develop guidelines for the global legal cannabis market. Interested stakeholders are invited to participate in the workshop to develop three (3) documents covering the safety, security and sustainability of buildings, facilities, equipment and systems used for the cultivation, production, processing, transportation and sale of cannabis and cannabis products. The registration deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Please inform your National Standards Organization (NSO) that you have registered to participate in this workshop. Demand for medical and recreational cannabis products is growing rapidly, with a projected value of up to $103.9 billion by 2024. Given the rapid growth of this industry and the challenges related to the safety, security and sustainability of buildings, premises, facilities and operations that handle cannabis, Canada will lead an iso international workshop to develop guidelines in these areas. A technical specification deals with work that is still under technical development or that should have a future, but not immediate, possibility of agreeing on an international standard. A technical specification is published for immediate use, but also offers the opportunity to receive feedback. The goal is for it to eventually be converted and republished as an international standard. An international workshop agreement is a document developed outside the normal ISO committee system to allow market participants to negotiate in an “open workshop” environment. International workshop agreements are usually supported administratively by a member committee. The published agreement contains a reference to the participating organisations involved in its development.
An international workshop agreement has a maximum lifespan of six years, after which it can be converted into another ISO result or be automatically withdrawn. Below are the types of services developed by ISO. • Workshop Paper #2 – Technical Guide for the Safe Use of Cannabis and Cannabis Products The guidelines contained in IWA 2 do not supplement, modify or modify the requirements of ISO 9001 and are not intended for use in conformity assessment or certification contracts. -Improvement of the economic situation by reducing low-quality costs -Proof of the commitment of the leaders of the organization to continuously improve their processes and services and improve the scientific and cultural level of the company -Promotion of the organization in the community and increase of customer trust All organizations that provide educational services at all levels, including primary schools, middle and colleges High schools, higher education centres, universities, educational institutions, suppliers A publicly available specification is published to address an urgent market need that represents either the consensus of experts in a working group or a consensus in an organization outside ISO. As with technical specifications, publicly available specifications are published for immediate use and also serve as a means of obtaining feedback for possible conversion into an international standard. It can take many forms. In addition to product standards, other examples include: test methods, codes of conduct, standards of guidelines and standards for management systems. The IWA 2 Guide standard helps educational institutions design and implement an ISO 9001 quality management system tailored to the specific conditions and characteristics of these facilities. A technical report contains information that is different from that of the two previous publications. For example, it may contain data from a survey or informative report, or information about the perceived “prior art”. Iso results, their use and how they are developed.
